Our story We are a family-owned & operated BBQ restaurant, with a cute patio for dining, pick up, or delivery. We smoke all our meats low and slow on a real wood-burning pit with post oak, on-site by the patio on the food truck, and everything else is handmade in the restaurant. Our unique blend of spices sets us apart from traditional salt-and-pepper Texas-style BBQ. Everything on our GREAT BIG menu in our itty-bitty restaurant is made from scratch using our original recipes, including the sauces that perfectly complement our meats.

We chose to start a food truck after David was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, we had done well in some competitions after we figured out that doing BBQ was something that worked for him. We were forged in Lockhart as a BBQ food truck in 2017, the BBQ capital of Texas, where we earned the seal of approval from all “Big 4” BBQ places in town and were in a couple of magazine articles including Food and Wine Magazine. After 3 years in Lockhart, we went to the Austin VA Outpatient clinic for a year donating 20% of our sales to the VA.

 Due to COVID, we had to pivot to local neighborhood HOAs and apartment complexes, until a San Antonio bar found us on their search for a dining service. The next 2 years we were there we were featured in the SA Express News 3 times (52 food trucks in 52 weeks, Top 5 restaurants in San Antonio for our meaty, loaded baked potato, and again in the top 5 for our southern style banana pudding), Voyage SA Magazine as an inspirational story and won best in 3 San Antonio neighborhoods on Nextdoor. We moved back to our hometown of New Braunfels; after receiving an offer we couldn’t refuse on Walnut Ave!

Once we opened in Sept. we were immediately secret shopped by the Texas Hill Country reporter and given a rave review! That article was put on SAnews.com and after that, we have already been mentioned in several other online publications and given a local award! Our goal is to be “The place where the locals eat BBQ!” Our signature sweet and tangy BBQ sauce is so good, that we’ve seen people drink it!
